Scholarship Opportunity

Backpack Lunch Ministry

Every year Acton Methodist Church purchases, packs, and serves 3,600 weekend lunches. These lunches are often the only things students who receive free and reduced meals have on the weekend. This program is not a budgeted program, but comes from funds raised entirely by the congregation outside of the general budget and from a grant through Neighbors Feeding Neighbors. Volunteers are needed to help purchase and deliver the lunches and work on your schedule. Contact Pastor Ben to volunteer or learn more.

September 23rd - Emergency Response Training

Want to get involved and learn more about Disaster Response? Acton UMC has created an Early Response Team (ERT) that consists of folks who go out to the disasters (floods, tornadoes, etc.) and help those affected. We do this with a “Caring and Christian presence”. We are trained by authorized UMCOR trainers, and are given ERT ID Badges as evidence of completing the training. We are holding a training class at Acton UMC Youth Building on Saturday, Sept. 23rd from 9 am – 5 pm. If you are interested in attending, contact Pastor Ben.

This confidential ministry is open to anyone who needs a caring person to meet with them. Simply call the church office at 817-326-4242 and ask for Pastor Margret Fields
