International Mission Projects
Jesus called us to "go into all the world and make disciples…" and at Acton United Methodist Church we take that commandment seriously. We are going to the other side of the world to share the love of Jesus. Will you join us!
The Advance is an official program of The United Methodist Church for voluntary, designated giving and 100% of each gift is used for its intended mission or ministry. The Advance lists thousands of projects and ministries around the world. Check out Giving Opportunities here: http://www.umcmission.org/Give-to-Mission/The-Advance.
Casa Hogar La Familia Children's Home in Mexico
Acton United Methodist Church has supported this home for children in Palmarito, Mexico since 1999, not only financially, but with mission teams as well. The home serves 30 - 36 children at any given time that would be without food, shelter, and love of a family without this ministry. Our support has provided funds for the building of their new home, for school, uniforms, books, medical care and many other necessities. If you are interested in joining a team to visit the home, please contact Rev. Margret Fields. To see photographs, visit www.embracethedream.com.
Maua Methodist Hospital, Kenya, Africa
Acton United Methodist sends a mission team every other year to support the Maua Community area, which includes the hospital, churches, and schools. In addition to working on projects at the hospital, we build a home for an Aids Orphan Family, support the Hope Companion Program and provide a VBS Afternoon for the children in the community. We also support the Individual Volunteer Missionaries, Jim Monroe and Sue Owen. For more information on the hospital visit:
Financial support for Maua Hospital is available thru The Advance #09613A.
Next Mission Journey is scheduled for July 23 - August 4, 2015. We are currently planning a fundraising for this journey, but do have several openings available.
